Global Watch: An "Upper Room Awakening"

A Watchman Call to Rise and Build

An "Upper Room Awakening"

Building community in a global prayer environment

“Then I said to the nobles, the rulers, and the rest of the people, ‘The work is great and extensive, and we are separated far from one another on the wall.  Wherever you hear the sound of the trumpet, rally to us there.  Our God will fight for us.’”
Nehemiah 4:19-20

As disasters, atrocities and tragedies escalate– whether natural or manmade – we find ourselves in times of increased spiritual intensity requiring stronger relations and communication.   This is an invitation for those who desire to rise and build for stronger collaboration, connection, and communication to more effectively meet the challenges today.  The walls Nehemiah built allowed people to walk and communicate to defend Jerusalem.  Without these walls, Jerusalem was defenseless.  We are in similar times when our cities and nations are defenseless against enemy attacks without the watchmen connecting, and building communication, and relationships.  Not only is this possible now, but necessary given the times we are in.  We invite your prayerful participation to join this growing family of watchmen across the nations.

Vision:  An “Upper Room Awakening," an invitation and call for watchmen to rise and build community in a global prayer environment through love, communication and relationship.
  • "These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication."  Acts 1:14
  • "On that day I will raise up the tabernacle of David, which has fallen down, and repair its damages; I will raise up its ruins, and rebuild it as in the days of old."  Amos 9:11

Mission (ABCDEF)
  • Awaken the prayer/worship movement to the need to collaborate, build and connect in worship/prayer
    • “Watch therefore, for you do not know what hour your Lord is coming.”  Matthew 24:42; 25:13; Mark 13:35
  • Build community through relationships
    • “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the first and great commandment. And the second is like it; You shall love your neighbor as yourself.  On these two commandments hang all the Law and the Prophets.”  Matthew 22:37-40
  • Communicate to promote relationship and transmission of key insights and alerts
    • “You also, as living stones, are being built up a spiritual house, a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God through Jesus Christ.” 1 Peter 2:5
    • “When you go to war in your land against the enemy who oppresses you, then you shall sound an alarm with the trumpets, and you will be remembered before the Lord your God, and you will be saved from your enemies.”  Numbers 10:9
  • Disciple through corporate prayer environments
    • “Go therefore and make disciples of all nations.”  Matthew 28:19
    • “Only be careful, and watch yourselves closely so that you do not forget the things your eyes have seen or let them slip from your heart as long as you live.  Teach them to your children and to their children after them” Deuteronomy 4:9
  • Engage prayer/worship with cultural spheres for spiritual transformation and with missions for the end-time harvest
    • “Son of man, I have made you a watchman for the house of Israel, therefore hear a word from My mouth, and give them warning from me.”  Ezekiel 3:17
    • "The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few; therefore pray the Lord of the harvest to send out laborers into His harvest."  Luke 10:2
  • Facilitate revival culture through ongoing prayer in community
    • "These all continued with one accord in prayer and supplication."  Acts 1:14
    • "On that day I will raise up the tabernacle of David, which has fallen down, and repair its damages; I will raise up its ruins, and rebuild it as in the days of old."  Amos 9:11
Why Participate?
The functional purpose of a watch, ongoing prayer/worship in community,  will link participants to a dynamic process of prayer impacting transformation and igniting once again the marriage of prayer and missions.  Such were the dynamics of the Upper Room and other historic outpourings of God's Spirit through prayer.  Other benefits as follows:
  • Participation will link you to a growing family of watchmen and give you the benefit of insights from others across the nations.
  • Access to communication tools to assist in receiving and dispensing critical alerts in the nations
  • Stronger collaboration will result between nations, prayer streams, and ministries as barriers are removed and relationships develop.
  • For other benefits click here
Who can Participate?
This is an invitation to all who desire and see the need to connect, collaborate and build community to more effectively face the challenges today (Isaiah 62:6; Jeremiah 6:17; Ezekiel 3:17).  The Global Watch does not interfere with formed ministries, but rather is a venue for building strength and communication in and between all involved.  Participants keep their identity and call in ministry but join through relationship, collaboration and agreement on common core values and vision. Such agreement takes all participating beyond what any one ministry or person can do.  No person is too small or ministry too big to participate.

When?
NOW!  It is URGENT. The spread of wars, the economic uncertainty, the widening gap between rich and poor, the increasing intensity of enemy aggression against followers of Christ, the huge migrant crisis gripping Europe creating population shifts, the terrorist threats posed by Islamist groups in many parts of the world - all these and more mean that we as Christians need to be “watching and praying." People are dying without Christ and if we don’t rally the watchmen there will be consequences (Ezekiel 33:1-7).

Where?

"Ignite the Night" emphasis on the 4th watch
What is the 4th watch and why emphasize it?  The 4th watch (3am-6am) is the New Testament version of the Old Testament night watch (2am-6am). When mobilized as a corporate call in cities and regions, it  carries significant spiritual weight and can pave the way for stronger prayer environments to arise.  Biblically strategic events take place on the night watches:
  • Jacob wrestled with God and met Him face to face, Gen 32:22-31
  • The Israelites crossed the Red Sea, Exodus 14:25-36
  • Gideon defeated the Midianites (middle watch), Judges 7: 19-24
  • Saul defeated the Ammonites, 1 Samuel 11:11
  • Angels appeared to the shepherds to announce the birth of Jesus, Luke 2:8
  • Peter and Jesus walk on water, Mt. 14:25-26
  • Jesus was resurrected from the dead, Mt. 28:1
The 4th Watch emphasis will help pave the way for stronger communities and culture of prayer to arise leading to greater kingdom advance in cities/regions/nations engaged. It is key for the preparation and awakening of an alert and ready bride.  Jesus said, "Blessed are those servants whom the master, when he comes, will find watching. Assuredly, I say to you that he will gird himself and have them sit down to eat, and will come and serve them. And if he should come in the second watch, or come in the third watch, and find them so, blessed are those servants," Luke 12:37-38.  For more information on the impact and import of the 4th watch click here.

Benefits of 4th watch mobilization:
The advantage of corporate agreement in this strategic time to pray carries the following potential for cities, regions:
  • Participation builds relational connections between people, churches, and regions in the time zones promoting powerful agreement
  • Promotes accurate discernment through relationship and accountability
  • It is a definable period of time, doable, and sustainable.  Most cities/regions can sustain with a small group of committed “watchmen”
  • It promotes unity and breaks down barriers that have isolated and divided cities and regions
  • No church/ministry is too big, or person too small to participate
  • It releases creative strategy for further prayer/worship advance
Furthermore and more importantly, God is simply doing it.  He is waking many people up between 3am-6am.  We just have to understand why it is happening and respond.

Expected Outcomes:
Purposeful ongoing prayer in community is the functional dynamic of a "watch."  The impact of "watches" connecting and building will be the igniting power for transformation in cities/nations and re-engage prayer and missions for a vast end-time harvest and the emergence of an alert and ready bride.  These outcomes can be identified as follows:
  • Dynamic re-engagement of prayer with missions
  • Culture of prayer and worship to increase in our cities/regions/nations as corporate HOP's, groups, communities of prayer arise
  • Collaboration between nations, prayer streams, and ministries as barriers are removed and relationships develop
  • Testimony of God's intervention to rise across the nations through salvation, healing, restoration, reconciliation of people groups
  • Creative strategies released for needed social, political, and cultural intervention
  • Transformation through stronger agreement and subsequent alignment politically and socially with biblical values in cities/regions/nations
  • Revival and End-time Harvest!
“Watch therefore, for you know neither the day nor the hour
in which the Son of Man is coming.”
Matthew 25:13

“And the Spirit and the bride say, “ Come!” And let him who hears say, “ Come!”
And let him who thirsts come. Whoever desires, let him take the water of life freely.”

Revelation  22:17
No person is too small or organization too big to participate.  It's time to connect and build one another up into an alert and ready bride:
